WPP India’s Apoorva Bapna Named in 2022 Empower Global Role Model Lists

Fifteen WPP leaders have been named to the Empower 2022 Global Role Model Lists for breaking down barriers and advancing the inclusion of people of color in business. In India, Apoorva Bapna, WPP’s Chief Culture Officer, is named to the Top 100 list of leaders leading by example and breaking down barriers to success for employees of diverse ethnicities.

The lists, compiled by INvolve and backed by Yahoo Finance UK, celebrate 100 executives, 100 future leaders and 50 advocate role models from across industries for their work championing inclusion and driving strategic change at within their organizations.

As Chief Culture Officer at WPP, Bapna relaunched WPP Stella – an initiative supported by WPP’s Global CEO – in India. Its goal is to develop and accelerate the careers of current and future female leaders by providing a safe space and access to senior female leaders for mentoring and coaching. WPP Stella in India set up a pool of 50 female mentors who then supported 80 high-potential early-career female leaders.

Thanks to the work and commitment of Bapna, the program has increased the representation of women at all levels and functions in public relations, media and creation. She also oversaw the launch of WPP’s global LGBTQ+ community in India. The network is made up of a group of individuals of different identities, sexualities, genders, agencies and disciplines, united to ensure diversity of thought and creativity in WPP workplaces and in his work. .
